Brazilian Carnival is well known around the world, but it’s most common image is attached to Rio’s monumental parades. In the streets around the country, however, people live carnival in many different ways. I wanted to show my city’s unique street carnival scene, which has maybe become it’s most rich cultural, political and artistic expression over the last years, attracting thousands of people.
This was an experiment on illustration and animation, and the main result was a video conceived for mobile format, specially Instagram stories, to simulate the feeling that it was recorded from the viewer’s phone.
